2009: The Year of The Beatles Remastered!

Beatles Stereo Box Set

It’s hard to believe that this year has been the year of The Beatles OK, and MJ had a big year too Many Beatles dreams came true this year because their music was finally remastered for release on CD.

The Beatles Mono Remastered Box Set

The release that has gained the most attention of really big Beatles fans is the mono box set because it’s the first time in decades that The Beatles mono mixes have been available to purchase new in any format.

Purist Beatles fans believe that these mono mixes were the way their music was originally meant to be listened to and they have a good reason to believe that. Mono was what most Beatles fans listened to in the ’60s and it was the mono mixes that the band and it’s producers spent the most time perfecting. It really wasn’t until around 1968 that The Beatles started to take their stereo mixes seriously.

The Remastered Beatles Stereo Box Set

2009’s most popular Beatles release has been this awesome box set. It’s been a huge seller and for a very good reason. It includes their entire ’60s discography in high quality remastered stereo. These remasters sound absolutely spectacular (these CDs are definitely far better than the 1987 Beatles CDs you probably have now.)

The really big improvement in comparison to the old CDs are heard in the way Paul McCartney’s bass guitar blasts through the mix like never before and Ringo’s drums sound far better too. I also love how the vocals sound, now I can hear each harmony part distinctly.

The Beatles Remastered USB

The Beatles USB is essentially a digital version of the remastered stereo box set. It includes both high quality mp3 files and audophile “better than CD” 24bit FLAC files. Along with the obvious audio component, this Apple USB stick also includes all of the visual parts of the box set such as the 13 mini documentaries, the extended liner notes, and the photos.

The USB memory stick is compatible with both PC and Mac computers. The mp3s that it includes should work with no hiccups with your mp3 player (whether it be an iPod, a Zune, or a generic mp3 player.)

X Factor Taking On The Perfume Market

The judging panel of top ITV show the X Factor have announced that they bring out individual perfumes just in time for Christmas. Simon Cowell is to make even more money with reports the perfume deal with make all the individual judges £250,000 plus a percentage of sales. The question on everyone’s lips is are these perfumes really going to be any good?

Is Louis Walsh real going to have a top selling perfume this Christmas, the branding for the other three judges is lot more obvious and I’m sure will be big sellers. Every perfume shop across the UK is going to want to have these perfumes as obviously they are all now national icons and also have millions of people watching them every weekend which certainly help build the hype and create quite a buzz when the perfumes are finally released.

It’s rumoured that judges will not be making their scents from scratch but have access to readymade perfumes that they will then be able to change to their taste. It ‘s certainly going to be a lot of press over the which of girls will produced the best perfume and what will be the best seller. Womens perfume is a huge market especially at Christmas and I’m sure what the scent these will big the Christmas sellers just down to how popular the show is. This will definitely be a start of future perfume campaigns for Judges Cheryl and Dannii if they haven’t already signed one.

The perfume market could be affect strongly by this announce amount as people could be swayed not to buy the usual big brands but instead go with these limited edition perfumes. So we will have to wait and see what they come with.

London Fashion Week Has an Eco Focus

London fashion week is just around the corner and this year promises to be bigger than ever. The shows will take place over a 4 day period, with 1 extra day for the men’s collections, and will welcome back some of the top designers around as well as acting as a launch pad for hopeful youngsters coming through the ranks. In total there will be over 150 exhibitors showing at Somerset House in The Strand, from Ada Zanditon & London Spa to Zoe & Morgan, and they will be competing for the attention of the top buying houses and high street fashion scouts.

Spring/Summer 2010 collections will be the focus of the show, although this year promises to have different priorities than the ones that have gone before it. Now that the ‘eco’ message has well and truly arrived in fashion, the ‘green’ section of the London Fashion Week (named ‘estethica’) has found itself at the centre of media attention.

Esthetica is entering its 7th year of existence and with 15 more labels taking part in the show this time around, there seems to be no stopping it. The BFC first came up with the idea of having a eco friendly section of the fashion week, to give those environmentally-conscious UK designers a chance to play with the big boys of fashion, but since its conception the show has won over even the most profit-driven of fashion companies.

Among the items on show will be jewelry, shoes, bags accessories, and of course clothing. However, in another move forward for the fashion week, there will also be beauty products and make-up shows taking place across the 4 days.  Whilst some may consider this not relevant to fashion, the organizers argue that anything that influences appearance comes under the fashion umbrella, be this eye liner or pedicure products. If the beauty products section of the show is a big hit then organisers say it will become be coming back next for sure.
